FiR's New Album

Ah, dear readers, I know I post on the rare occasion and have huge intervals between posts. Please find it in your heart to forgive me. ;)

Lots of people have been telling me about Falling In Reverse's new album, Fashionably Late. Honestly, I've never been a huge fan of FiR, so didn't bother taking a look at the new album.
Finally, I pulled up my socks and decided to see what all the commotion was about. And boy, was I in a state. Never in my life have I enjoyed rap, especially since most of it is arrogant guys talking about how great they are, or how many chicks they've screwed, so you can surely imagine how I feel about Fashionably Late.
One word: Disappointment.
I love Ronnie's voice, I really do. I think he has a very unique sound. But that just isn't enough to make me wanna listen to any of those songs ever again.

Champion

"Lil bit of rock mixed with the thug"? Yeah, real charming.
"Lil gangster in my blood"? Well whatever keeps you going, Ronnie.

I don't like the rapping. Honestly, the message he's sending in the song is good. Starting anew, rising up from all the shit he had going on. But c'mon, it really could've been delivered in a better way. I mean, we know you've been to jail, whoop whoop, but that's not really a good reason to say you're so gangster now.

Bad Girls Club

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/fallinginreverse/badgirlsclub.html

So... Basically... You're complaining about some stalker chick?  Or is this what happens after "Good Girls Bad Guys"?
Reality check: You have a lot of stalkers Mr Radke. They're called your fanbase.
Okay, I'm joking, but there seriously are a lot of you Ronnie fans that go a little far O.o

Again, I really wish the lyrics were better in this song. Not a big fan of the music itself either.

Rolling Stone

Revenge seems to be the taste on Ronnie's tongue. Gosh, and "if you think you know me then you're probably wrong"? Must be tough.
"I got that white boy rappin' right down to a T". Are we supposed to pat you on the back and congratulate you?
I'm also very scared of being cut up like an avocado. Very good comparison there, Ronnie.
"And the game fears me like a motherfucking wifebeater" Well, aren't you the one who hit your girlfriend? Oh, and what about those fans you hospitalized after throwing a mic stand at the crowd?

Fashionably Late

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/fallinginreverse/fashionablylate.html

This sounds terrible, but this is one of the two songs I'd actually listen to. Yeah, it's a song about using a chick to get to her friends, but it's catchy (not to mention it doesn't have any rap in it).
Yes, of course the song makes him look like a total jerk, and a bit of a man-whore. In his defense, at least it's honesty. No doubt, it's still not a great song, but it is something I might consider listening to again.

Alone

 http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/fallinginreverse/alone.html

In my opinion, this is the worst song on the album. I mean, c'mon, he's trashing other people and bragging about his success.
"What you spend in 15 months is what I spend in 15 minutes"? Yeah, nice thing to say to fans, the people who got you to where you are.
"Yo! 2013 motherfucker! Falling In Reverse!" We know the year and we know the band's name. Now stfu.

I'm sorry, but this song just annoyed the living hell outta me. Geez dude, please calm your ego, you're scaring away fans :/

Born To Lead

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/fallinginreverse/borntolead.html

I like these lyrics. I honestly do. They're different from the rest of the album in the way that it can be quite inspiring. It's a nice change compared to talking about himself all the time.

"I'm on your side, don't ever believe!
Or let anybody tell you
You cannot achieve your dreams.
What are you fighting for?
Let down your guard, lift up your arms.
Salute to the sky and be thankful you're here!
The man in the mirror's the one that you fear the most
And just like a ghost,
You'll escape your fate,
You must not lose your hope."

See what I mean? Though, I burst out laughing at the irony of him telling us we'll escape our fate. I wonder where he got that line from. :P

It's Over When It's Over

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/fallinginreverse/itsoverwhenitsover.html

As soon as this song started playing, I lost hope. Even the beginning is horrible.
The one thing I can praise about this song is that the lyrics are phased way better. Just gives us a better understanding of what he was feeling at one stage.

Game Over

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/fallinginreverse/gameover.html

Well, the whole electric feel really isn't my thing, but it does fit with the whole video game theme so I suppose it's not as bad as it seems.
I think the video game theme is actually very cute. Yet, I cannot bring myself to like the song.

Self-Destruct Personality

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/fallinginreverse/selfdestructpersonality.html

Although I'm not some strict Christian or anything, I just don't like him indirectly comparing himself to Jesus. I'm sorry bro, you ain't that fantastic.
Again with the rapping! Ahhh, take it away, take it away!
Only thing I like about this song: The way he says PERSONALI-TAY xD

Fuck The Rest

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/fallinginreverse/fucktherest.html

"Charlie, what are you barking at? Charlie, I'm trying to sing a song, you gotta go. Charlie, go. Ahem." That made me laugh so much!
"The crazier the kid, the tighter his pants." Hahahahahaha!

"I'm so tired of being sick, I'm so sick of being tired.
This is for everyone out there who feels like they've had enough.
This song is for you, and your mother too."

Even the nice parts make me laugh xD

If anything, this song made me laugh. So brownie points for that.

Keep Holding On

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/fallinginreverse/keepholdingon.html

This is my favourite on the album. Why? Simply because he opens up, allows us to feel some of what he feels. The lyrics are what make this song better than the others. It's genuine and real. Many will be able to relate to some of it.

Drifter

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/fallinginreverse/drifter.html

Well, just when I was beginning to think this album wasn't as bad as I thought, this song started playing.
Although the lyrics are nice, I just despise country music. It was bad enough having rap and some dubstep, but then they had to throw country in the mix too? Definitely not to my liking.

Although this album isn't something I'd like, I'm sure there are people out there who would buy the album and enjoy it.
I think many fans have been let down, but this album does show that they are willing to change it up a bit. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's crap, but that's just my opinion.
Well, it's the music industry. If it sells, nothing else matters. Still, I can't help but almost miss the old style, even though I'm not much of a fan.

Well, that's all from me for this post. Sorry that it's just some rant about Fashionably Late. :P

Hugs & whatever xx

Loving Yourself - Part 1

Good lord, I haven't posted in forever! :/
Readers, I apologies for that. I honestly have no excuse. Life has been a bit hectic, but hopefully it'll be settling down now, allowing me more blogging time :D

To kick off this post, I'd like to mention a few names.
Amy! Ahhhh! Goodness girl, we just don't spend that much time together anymore. Miss you stacks, and love ya muchness, my bestie <3
Jamie.. So proud of you, and so happy that this blog has made a difference in your life. I value your friendship so so much, and I'm super amped that you worked stuff out with your dad :')
Ash, you're amazing. NEVER forget to think positively, and remember that you DO have worth. People love you, man. Oh, and when I finally get the hang of xbox, I shall kick your behind in Halo :P
Michie. Darling, you support me and all your other friends, and don't ever expect anything in return. Gosh, you are one of the people who inspire me to be a better person. Love you! Don't bottle up your feelings, love.
You all hold a special place in my heart. I love you all! :D

Okay, dear reader, now that that's been said, let's get to the topic at hand, shall we?
As you may have noticed, I've used the word "love" many times when speaking about my friends. That's because I've come to a little bit of a realisation that when you care about people, you let them know. It may just make their day.
Jamie is the one who inspired me to post about this topic, along with Michie. Jamie has a solid belief that she has to let her friends know she loves them. That sunk in, and I realised that I fear using those words. Whether it be with friends or a partner.

So, what's this post about? Simple. The next few posts will be about feelings and bottling them up. This plays a vital role in loving yourself.

For many, it seems like a daunting task to try to express their feelings. I know, I was there. But trust me, after some of the troubles I've had emotionally during the past few months, it's dawned on me that bottling them up just DOESN'T help. At all.

Okay, so where do I start? Ah, I know..

1. Fear

The fear of what people may think of you if you express your feelings can sometimes overwhelm a person. I understand, we all feel that way at one point or another. Though, don't you ever wish to be freed of that worry? Doesn't it become a burden trying to fit into other people's idea of who you're supposed to be? I know I'd get frustrated.
"But Sakura, what ever can I  do??"
This may be the question you're asking at this very moment. Well, dear reader, if this is a problem you're facing, you have a few things you can do to overcome it.

-Firstly, you have to stand in front of the mirror every single day. Now, the first thing people usually do is look at all their flaws, or things they dislike about themselves. It's a human reaction, but instead of lingering on thoughts like that, take a look at all the things you LOVE about yourself. No, I am certainly not saying you should grow an ego, but confidence is such a beautiful quality to have! Admire yourself for five minutes every day, and slowly you'll start to love yourself exactly how you are. Remind yourself that you were created in a special way, and in the way that makes you who you are, so be proud of it for crying out loud!

-Having support from your friends always helps. When someone insults you, or if you're just feeling down on yourself, don't hesitate to ask your friends for some cheering up. Having someone tell you that they love and accept you, and think you're beautiful to them is one of the best pick-me-ups. True friends will be more than happy to help you get over this.

-Stop comparing yourself to other people! So what if she has prettier eyes, or a gorgeous smile? So what if he has more muscle than you? Once you compare yourself to other people, you fool yourself into believing you're nothing (or even believing you're superior - depending on who you're comparing yourself to). Quit it! The only person you should compare yourself to, is YOURSELF. Once you do that, you'll improve, not sit around sulking because someone else was born with different talents, etc.

-Be kind to your body. Goodness people, I can't stress this enough. The way you treat your body is so important! Get a good night's rest each night so you can wake up the next morning feeling like a million dollars. Lack of sleep causes you to feel drained the next day. Some people say less sleep allows them to feel more energised the next day. Well, this may be the case, but the energy wears off after an hour or two. What you eat makes a huge impact on how you feel. Don't get me wrong, I love my junk foods, but remember that too much causes you to feel horrible. Fatty foods will go straight to your hips, girls. Just sayin'. Sure, have junk food once a week, but try to eat a balanced meal. That doesn't mean you have to pig out on veggies, it just means you should have a little bit of each food group on your plate. Also, snack throughout the day to keep your energy levels up and your metabolism going, but make sure they aren't big portions. Small noms to nibble on. A lot of these things most of you already know, but I have to stress the fact that they contribute to your confidence and what you think about yourself. I might add that a little bit of exercise goes a long way. Just a walk around your neighbourhood each day can improve your mood by 200%. You just have to have the determination to go for it. It gives you time to think, or time to not think. You release your frustration while also burning some of that unwanted fat.

Okay, I know this is starting to sound like on of those magazines that have articles on your health, but bear with me.
All these things DO make a difference in feelings and bottling them up. The fear of expressing your feeling is usually to do with insecurity within oneself. To overcome the fear and start loving yourself, you have to treat yourself correctly, both emotionally and physically.

So that's it for the first part of 'Loving yourself'. I'm keeping it short to make sure you don't end up dozing off or getting annoyed with all these freaking words coming at you in one go :P
Next time, I'll be touching on the topic of trust and how it effects you.

Didn't expect that, did you..? =_=

Peace,
  Sakura xx
